Research and experimental development on biotechnology

Explanatory Note

Title: Research and development in biotechnology It comprises experimental research and development (R&D) in biotechnology, namely, about: - DNA/RNA (genomics, pharmacogenomics, gene probes, genetic engineering, DNA/RNA sequences/syntheses/amplifications, gene expression profile and use of anti-messenger technology). DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) consists of a molecule complex biological structure that determines protein structure and encodes genetic information and RNA (Ribonucleic Acid) allows DNA to carry out protein synthesis. - Proteins and other molecules (sequences/synthesis/engineering of proteins and peptides, large molecule hormones, improving delivery methods for large molecules medication; proteomics, protein isolation and purification, signaling, identification of cell receptors; - Tissue culture, cells and engineering (cell/tissue culture, tissue engineering, tissue “skeletons”, biomedical engineering, cell fusion, stimulants, vaccines/immune and embryo manipulation); - Biotechnological process techniques (fermentation using bioreactors, bioprocessing, bioleaching, biodefibration, biodisplacement, biodesulfurization, biorecovery, biofiltration and phytorecovery); - RNA and gene vectors (gene therapy and viral vectors); - Bioinformatics (construction of genome database, protein sequences, complex modeling of biological processes and systems); - Nanobiotechnology (applies nano-microfabrication tools and processes to build devices to study biosystems and applications in drug delivery, diagnostics and other applications. Does not include:  DNA sequencing to exclude or cure a specific disease (86911);
