Title: Other monetary intermediation
Includes monetary intermediation activities carried out by monetary institutions
different from the central bank. The activities of these monetary intermediation institutions
refer, on the one hand, to receipts of deposits and/or close substitutes for deposits of
entities not included in the monetary sector and, on the other, the granting of credit.
Includes, in particular, the activities of banks, savings banks and agricultural credit banks
mutual.
It also includes the activities of postal turnover institutions (they receive deposits of
entities resident in the euro area belonging to the non-monetary sector), as well as the
granting credit for the purchase of housing to institutions qualified to receive
deposits.
Does not include:
Activities of money market funds (643);
Institutions not authorized to receive deposits and that grant credit for the acquisition of
housing (64924);
Credit card transaction processing activities (66190);
