Explanatory Note
Title: Television programming and broadcasting and video distribution activities
It comprises the activities of creating complete programming for television channels based on
of acquired components (films, documentaries, etc.), produced components (news,
reports, etc.) or a combination of the two.
These television channels can be transmitted by production units or by third parties,
such as cable companies or satellite television providers.
Programming can be general or restricted in nature (limited formats, e.g. news,
sport, education, youth-oriented programming), can be made available
free of charge to users or may only be available on a subscription basis.
Includes video-on-demand channel programming, streaming service activities and
video downloading, not associated with its editing, transmission of shows and events
Live and video game streaming sites for viewing only.
Does not include:
Video game publishers and streaming distribution service activities (stream
continuous) and downloading of video games by video game publishers (58210);
Production of television programs not associated with broadcasting (59110);
Assembling channel packages and distributing these packages, without programming (61);
Provision of technical infrastructures related to streaming services (stream
continuous) video, data processing services and related activities (63100);
