Explanatory Note
Title: Recovery of non-metallic waste
It comprises the separation, sorting and recovery of recoverable materials from waste streams.
non-hazardous non-metallic waste or mixed materials, as well as processing
(mechanical, chemical or biological) waste and residues, non-metallic, in raw materials
secondary, (destined for a new transformation) of which below are presented some
Examples: recovery of iron from clinker, regeneration of metals from waste and
photographic waste, production of rubber powder from waste and waste
rubber, including decontamination, division (disposal) of fractions and devulcanization;
valorization (maturation, cleaning, sorting) of incineration ash into raw materials
secondary (metals, aggregates); sorting and mechanical processing (e.g. cleaning,
crushing) of plastics to produce secondary raw materials; crushing, cleaning and sorting
glass packaging and other waste (including that from demolition);
processing of food, beverage and tobacco waste and residual substances,
recovery of used oils, transformation of food oils and fats used in
secondary raw materials; extraction of silver from chemical waste, other than by refining
electrolytic, phosphorus recovery from sewage sludge ash; recovery of
textile and clothing products by mechanical, thermal or chemical processes; production of
waste compost; production of biogas from waste, not intended for supply
gas or energy.
Does not include:
Manufacture of new products from secondary raw materials (manufactured or not
by himself), for example: spinning yarn from textile waste, manufacturing pulp
paper from waste paper, tire retreading or metal production from
metal scrap (C);
Nuclear fuel reprocessing (20130);
Remelting plastics to obtain granules or compounds (20160);
Remelting of waste and ferrous waste (24100);
Production of biogas from waste for gas supply (35210);
Exploration of waste transfer sites (381);
Energy recovery during the thermal treatment of waste (38220);
Disposal of waste without recovery (383);
Wholesale of recoverable materials (4687);
