Explanatory Note

Title: Steel and ferroalloy manufacturing It comprises the production of: pig iron (includes spiegel pig iron); crude steel and semi-finished products (includes products obtained by continuous casting); ferroalloys; hot and cold rolling of flat products; hot rolling of long products (rolled wire, concrete rod, bars, heavy profiles, rails, etc.); production of sheet piles; production of rails and other material for railway tracks; iron shot and powder; chemically pure iron; ingot remelting of scrap, iron and steel in ingots; and coating of flat products. Includes activities associated with the operation of blast furnaces, iron and steel converters and rolling mills; blast furnace gas production and manufacturing of flat iron and steel products coated or uncoated, in rolls or straight lengths exceeding 600 mm wide, by cold re-rolling of hot-rolled flat products or iron and steel bars. Does not include:  Production of coke from coal (19100);  Cold drawing of bars (24310);  Production of cold-rolled flat products with a width of less than 600mm (24320);  Casting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals (245);  Coating outside the steel sector (25510);
