Explanatory Note
Title: Manufacture of paper and cardboard (except corrugated)
Includes the manufacture of paper and cardboard intended for subsequent industrial transformation,
from virgin pulp or recycled paper. Includes paper and card treatment (coating,
coloring, covering and impregnating paper, embossing, rewinding, supercalendering,
gluing and other paper or cardboard processing operations carried out outside or in the
own sheet machine. It also includes the manufacture of paper or cardboard laminates,
with plastic materials or non-ferrous metals, paper: crimped or pleated, handmade, of
newspaper and other printing or writing paper, chemical or stencil paper in rolls or in
large sheets and manufacture of cellulose wadding and cellulose fiber blankets.
The manufacture of coated or impregnated paper, in which the coating or impregnation is the
main raw material, is classified in the subclass relating to the manufacture of coating or
impregnation.
